Outstanding Performance in the 2025 CrossFit Open
In the 2025 CrossFit Open, TCSC emerged as the top-ranked affiliate in British Columbia, securing third place nationally and 42nd worldwide. The CrossFit Open is an international online competition that challenges athletes of all levels with a series of workouts over three weeks.
TCSC’s emphasis on full-gym participation has been pivotal in this achievement. Owner Kent Aitchison noted,
"Having so many people take part juices up the gym for a few weeks, and it makes a real impact — not just on performances, but on the entire community."
The event saw participants ranging from 15 to 76 years old, highlighting the inclusive nature of the competition. Aitchison added,
"It pushes people, gets them working harder, and creates a really special energy."
Through the Open sign-ups, TCSC raised approximately $2,200, with $15 from each registration donated equally to Kamloops KidSport and the Harborside Youth Foundation.
Upcoming Tournament Capital Classic
Looking ahead, TCSC is preparing for its fifth annual Tournament Capital Classic, scheduled for June 20-21 on McArthur Island. This event has grown significantly since its inception, attracting competitors from across British Columbia and Alberta.
