Fresh off his PGA Championship victory, Scottie Scheffler is making headlines again, this time sending a direct message to LIV Golf. As talk of a potential merger between the PGA and LIV tours continues, Scheffler puts the onus on the LIV golfers to reunite the sport. Read on to discover scheffler’s pointed remarks and what they mean for the future of professional golf.

Fresh off of his PGA Championship victory Scottie Scheffer sent a bold message to the LIV Golf tour – prompted, of course.

While gearing up for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in his backyard – Dallas – the world No. 1 was asked if he’d have as much success as he’s had on the PGA Tour in recent years if the likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka never left for the LIV Golf tour.

Scheffler didn’t take the bait.

“Who knows? I only get to compete against those guys four times a year. That was their choice not mine. At the end of the day I’m here competing, doing the best I can – that kind of stuff, what’s the point in me thinking about?” he quipped. “We get four chances to compete against them and last week went well and we’ll get another chance here in a few weeks.”

In a follow-up question a reporter asked the three-time major winner if there was any progress on the two tours coming together. After suggesting that was better left for the “higher-ups” in the sport, Scheffler added, “I have said it a few times this year. If you want to figure out what’s going to happen in the game of golf, go to the other tour and ask those guys.”

“I’m still here playing the PGA Tour. We had a tour where we all played together, and the guys that left, it’s their responsibility, I think, to bring the tours back together. Go see where they’re playing this week and ask them.”
